This does not make me feel happy or appreciated. >:( So I was wondering...what would you do? Where can I get flood insurance?

My insurance agent can't sell me flood insurance. I am not in a known flood zone. My township does not participate with the NFIP. Everyone tells me I can buy insurance but according to all the people who I have asked for it I can't get it. If you know how, let me know, please.

Insurance companies use credit reports?

Just got notice from my insurance company (auto only) that they are going to be ordering insurance loss history reports and motor vehicle reports. They will help determine our eligibility for insurance and the price we may be charged. All well and good. But here's the kicker, the part I don't get. They also say that they may order additional consumer reports that include our credit info. They may use a credit-based insurance score based on that info. And they may use a 3rd party to develop our credit-based insurance score. Is this normal? Do many companies do this? Is this something that anyone else is outraged about, and is anyone fighting this? I don't have much cause for concern really, but I don't get what one thing has to do with the other. You could explain that to me too! If it matters, this is American Family Insurance. Does State Farm do this?

Will full coverage car insurance cover this?

My friend was in an accident on a dirt road last night. He hit a rock sticking out of the ground that popped his tire, and the front right side of his car slide into a mountain. So the front fender, and right door is smashed pretty well. He has full coverage car insurance, and can not talk to them personally about what is covered, because they are closed until Monday. He left a voicemail with the insurance company when the accident happened. Money is tight so he is very worried about what, if not all, will be covered. Does anyone know whether this type of accident will be fully covered, or at least some of it? Thank you for your answers in advanced.

My wife and I currently have 65 life insurance which we pay about $130 per month for the two of us. After listening to her friend Suze Orman she wants to get rid of the 65 life and get term life insurance. 1st question is what do you think is better and 2nd is how easy is it to settle your current life insurance to cash out and if you stay with the same company can you roll your current $value into the new term life?
